Mother Mary with Baby Jesus or Jesus hanging from the Cross?
The image of Mother Mary with baby Jesus fills my heart with happiness and I think it is a better image than the image that depicts Jesus hanging from the Cross. Also, I think it is not suitable for children because it depicts torture and there is a lot fo blood and gore in it. What do you think about it?
I am aware of all the history behind the Cross. Hence, you are not required to re-iterate the same story.
I think both images are important. Mary with the baby Jesus is easier for children to understand. But, when get older and can understand what salvation is all about, it is important to remind ourselves of that with the crucifix.
