I recently got my first tattoo. It’s on my shoulder blade area, black/grey/white, about 7 inches wide and 4-5 inches tall, so a bit smaller than yours. That being said, I was under the needle for a little over 2 hours, with some prep time before. All done, it was $250 and I went to a very reputable place and artist because I wanted good work. So, rough estimate, I’d say shoot for saving $400 just to be safe.

Honestly though, if you have a place or artist in mind you should go talk to them to see. Everyone has different rates and it may change based on location too. Generally, really good artist charge anything from $80-150/hour, so the price really could vary. But any good artist would be more than happy to discuss size and price with you at no cost, and sometimes it’s a good idea to look around and online at portfolios for someone who can do the job you want. You will especially want to look for someone who likes to work in black and grey and lettering.
