Jesus vs. Horus: Is Christianity a plagiarized religion?
I’ve recently heard from a friend about the similarities between the story of Jesus and the ancient Egyptian god, Horus. So I Googled both names and came up with hundreds of web pages dedicated to the haunting similarities between them.
They both shared the same birth date, were born of immaculate conception, three kings were present at Horus’ birth after following a star to find his location, both were prodigy teachers by age twelve and baptized at age 30.
Even the story of Jesus’ betrayal, crucifixion and resurrection were present in the story of Horus.
So with all of this in mind, and the fact that the story of Horus was over a millenium older than Jesus’ birth, would it not seem that the entire basis for Christianity is a hoax? Thoughts?
Perhaps I didn’t make clear what I was saying. I realize that most people know that Jesus wasn’t actually in December and that it’s not in the bible, but I’m just going with what we as a society associate with Christmas.
Jesus verses no one. He is the God of the Heavens and the earth. I’ve never even heard of Horus, but whoever he is, he has no power comparedf to the power of God Almighty. I believe thay you will be much better off, if you just forget about Horus, and turn your life over to the Lord Jesus Christ, if you have not done so already.
