Apostles, Disciples, early followers of Jesus?

Can anyone suggest any books that have collected together traditional oral tradition/apocryphal stories or mythology about ‘what happened next’ to the followers of Jesus after the crucifixion and resurrection? Either works on all/some, or works on individuals would be of interest.
