Differences in the Bible?

Can’t remember exactly who said what (sorry) but when the story of Jesus’ crucifixion is being told in the Bible, why are there differences in the books (Matthew, Luke etc)? Like what the sign Jesus has says, or what he called out when he died? If it were a historical document why aren’t they identical?

Apart from the obvious answer that it’s all made up…

Well, the obvious answer is that there are as many accounts of an event as there are eyewitnesses to it. Not that it’s “made up”.
