Why can’t Christians see that Acts 10:39 contradicts the crucifixion?

(please read the additional detail)

When a Christian is confronted with the contradiction of Jesus’ death which is seen in Acts 10:39 which states :

“And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:” (Acts 10:39)

Most Christians claim that the word TREE in Acts 10:39 is a metaphor for WOOD in a Cross.

Question : If Acts 10:39 is a metaphor for wood in a cross. Where in the Gospels does it state that Jesus’ cross was wood?
Where in the Gospels does it state that Jesus’ cross was wood? Thats all I am asking. Christians think they have the truth, But I disbelieve that ASSUMING establishes truth.
The Path of Least Bloodshed – It appears he did contradict himself.

It is a very stupid circle that we run. Most Christians can not grasp the concept that Jesus could not be the Jewish Messiah. The content of Acts 10;39 demonstrates that Jesus (Yeshua, Essa) would have been put to death by the Jews, not the Romans. The Romans crucified and the Jews Hung people in trees. They seem to not grasp the fact that if Jesus were indeed the Jewish Messiah, he would not have been put to death before fulfilling the prophecy of the Jewish Messiah. What Rome has done is to change the prophecy to fit their needs. Jesus did not fulfill the prophecy. therefore he was not the Jewish Messiah. History of Roman Christianity has tried to build a reality to force Jewish tradition into Pagan religion. The bad part is that they are getting it to work and misleading many.
