Call away from organized religion?
Is the media to blame or thank for calling organized religion out?
For example: Increasing numbers of people are calling for the tearing down of walls between organized religion by denying dogmatic assertions: e.g. Jesus being the only way to God and issues with Islam that I am frankly not familiar with.
Other examples are the growth in Unitarian Universalism and the popularity of Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, and who could forget Baba Ram Dass.
Super Kitteh: Who can prove Jesus said or did those things you are talking about? The origins of the religion are suspect. Even if he did he said lots of other things too. People made Christianity what it is. God hasn’t told me any such thing.
Humanity is evolving away from emotion based organized religions. We have outgrown many of the cultural precepts such as slavery and sexism that were accepted as normal by the ancients. Religion must adapt to the changing consciousness of humanity or die.
