How can I pick a religion?

I’m currently religion less. i’ve tried to pick one, but they all feel wrong. There are some that I know I don’t believe in, like i’m definitely not anything polytheistic but i just don’t know which one to follow! sometimes, i question if god does exist and if its just all an illusion created by us so we dont have to face death. but what if the christians are right and i’ll go to hell because i don’t believe in jesus? i don’t want to go to hell! how can i possibly believe in something i don’t know? somebody please help me and explain this to me.

religion is a huge occult made up by the people with mystical stories which we could all be in awe to listen to because it is so far fetched with relative moments we could encounter within our lifetime. i’ve been buddhist since birth, gone to church, hung out with plenty of religious muslims, many friends with parrents who are jewish and i’ve learn alot from them. i too have been on a hunt for something to believe in, but it is all too far out for me. how could i speak to someone, who doesn’t exist? as in someone who could talk back to me, i don’t want a representative, i want answers, i never got them, all i got was a bunch of negativity for 3 years. what i liked the most was probably meditating, seeking enlightenment without search. finding my purpose in this world, because we weren’t brought to life to stay in one place, we need to progress. be content and happy, religion can only aid those whom seek religion. being opened minded is okay, picking a religion is a bit difficult. been there and done it ya dig. its been 2 years and i’ve been very happy since i been meditating, figuring myself out.
