christ of faith vs jesus of history?
Can someone please explain to me the difference in lamens terms of the Jesus of History vs. Christ of faith?
Well “Jesus of History” means you’re speculating on who Jesus could have been, taking Gospel accounts of him and historical and archeological understanding of life of the time, but disregarding all the supernatural stuff.
“Christ of Faith” would be to look at the Gospel accounts, disregard historical and archeological understanding when it contradicts, and then add in some dogmatic tradition.
I’m obviously biased, but I’m sure you get the gist of it.
