Dionysus, Mithras, & Jesus

Before the Mayans were many civilizations that alluded to some sort of monumental change in earth-consciousness in 2012. That in no way negates the uniqueness of the Mayan Long Count calendar. The history of the planet and humanity is one long chain of Being. The process of unfolding enlightenment is amazing to review and watch in our own lives. To establish everything on 2012 to the Mayans is to deny the many pieces of the puzzle from earlier civilizations.

In like fashion, civilizations have been built on the shoulders of previous one while men and legends have affirmed and been built on previous ones.

Dionysus or Dionysos is the god of wine and a major figure of Greek mythology. Mithras (Mithra) was a deity from ancient Indo-Iranian mythology. He became a major figure in the religion known as Zoroastrianism, which originated in ancient Persia. The cult of Mithras spread into the Mediterranean world, where for a time it rivaled Christianity as the fastest-growing new religion. And of course who hasn’t heard of Jesus of Nazareth?

With monotheism as the major religious paradigm today, is it any wonder that all three men and all three religions practice many of the same principles.

>All three claim a virgin birth
>All three were born on December 25th
>All three arrived being witnessed by Magi and shepherds
>All three baptized their initiates
>All three represented redemption from the sins of the world
>All three ascend to heaven until the end times

There are strands (string theory?) that run throughout eternity, as we know it, that are not and cannot be changed. To get a complete picture of the world of consciousness that we live in, we need to work with all the pieces of the puzzle. Those who base everything on the Mayan long count calendar only have a “piece” of the puzzle- and a small piece at that.

We need to gather from every ancient civilization and from every current discipline of science those pieces of the puzzle that will allow us to see more clearly what’s being built and where we are headed. It’s ALL GOD!

About the Author

As a spiritual-futurist, I interpret current events in light of possible macro-universal forces at play leading up to 2012, but not limited to it.

Is Jesus a Myth? Is Jesus just a copy of the pagan gods of other ancient religions?

The Christ-Myth Theory And Its Problems

The Christ-Myth theory … “Worse Than Atheism”? New Testament scholar Robert M. Price, one of America’s leading authorities on the Bible, has assembled in his book evidence that shows that almost the entire “biography of Jesus” is a conscious reworking of earlier literature. It is one thing to say “There are no gods” or “Jesus was not a god, just a man.” It is quite another thing to say “Jesus of …
