Jesus Returning Soon

For 2000 years, Christians have been predicting that Jesus is returning soon, during that time…………….?
have any of them issued a public apology for being 100% incorrect?

Most of these false “predictors”, that we or others have heard of, have not been those biblically illiterate leaders of abborent and minor cults, but normal pastors, “men of the word”, “pillars of the community”, and “great men of God”.
Not only have they been predicting it (BTW, predicting things is unbiblical; it is not the same thing as prophecy), but the characters of Paul and Jesus (according to NT writers) himself stated it as an absolute fact. Why state it as a certainity and in a certain way, but you actually meant it another way? That is deception. It is deceit to use the word “soon”, which the listeners took one way, within days or perhaps within decades, when the speaker actually meant thousands of years. If someone doesn’t know when, why give the impression that they knew when?
If you look at what many of your answerers say, they are using apologetic language (or rather, they are making excuses). And some don’t answer the question, but instead illogically attack atheists (meaning anyone who is not a denying or an apologetic believer), who they say are not thinking logically. They say that you need to “read the bible” but the answer nor is their answer to be found in the bible. Saying “there will be signs” does not address the question about timing and the use of the word “soon” or phrases like “some of those standing here”, etc. And we should not have to rely on a few verses in some minor letter, that told believers at that time, who were under the impression that “soon” meant in their lifetime, their generation, that they should not despair but rather would just “have to wait” patiently.
And they, and also we who read the NT literally, were/are under the impression that “the coming” was a physical “coming”, not some “spiritual” or “mystical coming”. A “coming of Jesus” and not a spiritual “us going to meet Jesus in heaven” or a modern day theory of a “rapture”. Jesus coming down to Us, inheriting the earth, not an us being “sucked up” into the air like a cloud of smoke and dust to a “heaven” which is also temporary and so flawed like the earth that it also needs to be “rebuilt” or “become new”.
