Jesus Rocks Posters

WHAT TO DO FOR YOUTH GROUP!?! The best ideas only ; )?
Here is the deal. I belong to this relatively big youth group and we always have these retreats you see. Really they are just weekends which we spend on the church/school campus. Now obviously there is the whole holy and jesus music. We have bible verse readings skits in response to Talks/speeches that people do, the whole make a poster thing but nothing exciting. nothing “razzle me rock me” nor deeply profoundly memorable. So obviously I grow tired of the monotoney and this year I have the opportunity to oranize aspects of the retreat. With that in mind I would like peoples ideas of anything fun to do from party games to tournaments to group activities to hilarious… use your imagination. Any Ideas???
OK, I take a try.. {:-)
You could have a play. A chapter of the bible at a time. Comedy skits, ((CLEAN ONES ))Rehearse a little at each retreat and surprise the Church with it.. Don`t say nothing til it is close to time to do it and then ask for permission and a time slot to do it. Make popcorn and soft drinks and candy and send invites to everyone.. and enjoy the show…
You could have a swap/exchange/barter night. Everyone bring stuff (IN GOOD SHAPE) and swap and barter and exchange for it.. That is fun..
You could decorate the Fellowship Hall, Or Sunday School rooms for the little ones or the elder folks and surprise them with it.
You could build a victory garden and grow vegetables and invite the grown ups to a stew dinner or lunch. And grow flowers to have at the tables for dinner.. Something for everyone.
You could get old bicycles and fix and paint and then give them away at Christmas or a birthday for kids who won`t get one. Or any repairable toys..
You could organize a BLANKET / COAT / TENT drive for folks who have none and no where to live. And distribute them when needed to the homeless.
I wish you the best God blessings ever.. Good luck and have fun.. NOT everything, has to be done, at each retreat. Do a little at a time.. Gives you something to look forward to at the next retreat.. Makes coming a whole lot easier if there is something you are looking forward to doing..
Peace & God bless from Texas. <><
