Making Jesus Prayer Ropes

Prayer rope question?

Do Christian prayer ropes really help in prayer life? It seems like chanting the Jesus prayer would get monotonous and ineffective.

Also, do you need to make one, or can you buy one? And if you were to buy one, would you need to anoint it or something to use it?

Just a teen trying to know God.

Some people derive a great deal of comfort from rote prayer. If you discover that it isn’t for you, I think that a spontaneous heart prayer can be just as pleasing to God — maybe moreso.
