Mary Jesus Etching
Why does Jesus only reveal himself in pieces of burnt toast and ceiling mold. Isn’t this a bit childish?
OK, imagine you’re Jesus. You’re going to etch your image on a piece of burnt toast in Iowa. Why??????!!! You keep doing this on random bits of food, ceiling mold, anything that forms random patterns. To what end?
What sort of a childish person would do that? If you’re going to give believers a sign, why do things by halves? Why not turn up in the sky in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, or transmit yourself onto every single television set in the world simultaneously? Or turn up in everyone’s breakfast?
Why reveal yourself to isolated individuals. If you believe some yesteryear story of an elderly spinster who saw the virgin Mary in Loudes or Knock (Ireland) and venerate the site, shouldn’t you give equal veneration to the grilled cheese sandwich Jesus?
That’s a bit of a comedown for a deity that could supposedly destroy entire cities at will and make the sun stop moving across the sky, isn’t it?
