Would Jesus have looked more like Yasser Arafat than Mel Gibson?

Seeing as Jesus wasn’t a white person, do the blockbuster movies give a wrong impression? Given his background who has that background today? Who comes from the same tribe?

Historically speaking Jesus was probably brown or at least a dark olive complected. He was the son of a carpenter. He most likely worked hard out in the Middle Eastern sun.

The Jewish people also went through slavery in Egypt before His birth. His family fled there after His birth to escape Herod. How did they fit in? The people of Egypt were dark peoples. The modern people of Egypt are mostly the by-product of the Islamic expansion (around 639 AD) and Persians around 343 BC (Moses left Egypt before this). Even they are dark complected. Before this though, they were most likely black. Notice the facial features of most Pharaoh depictions. Tutankhamen looks alot like a black friend of mine. Modern day Jews often times have curly hair (many sport Afros). They often times have large lips too. These are traits of African heritage. I’m not saying He was black. But He was probably of color.

Regardless of what color He was. He shed red blood for the sins of men and women of all the ‘colors of the rainbow’.
