Why does it cost me $19.95 to find Jesus?

This is a serious question I have. In the churches I have passed through in my life and most sundays when I turn on the T.V. There is this salesman(AKA Preacher) Telling me that if I buy their CD or DVD I too can find Jesus. I have heard a story in the bible, that Jesus himself went off on merchants for using the house of God for profit. How is this right and how do the people following these preachers think this is right? Would Jesus had a problem if the merchants were selling DVD’s on how to be saved? Religion or saving my soul should’nt consist on me breaking out my credit card.

Your exactly right! These preachers are wrong in their advertising scheme manipulating people into thinking that paying money is there price for Salvation. You are also right that Jesus was angered at people using the church to conduct their business. I hold nothing against these men but the fact that I think they lost site of their true goal as preachers. The gift of salvation comes at no cost to anyone, if it did there would be much less christians in the world.
